BRASELTON, Ga. – Terry Borcheller, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Will Turner, of Newburyport, Mass., led Speedvision World Challenge GT and Touring Car practice, respectively, in preparation for Friday's Round Seven races at the Road Atlanta Petit Le Mans Presented by Audi. Borcheller, driving the AASCO Saleen SR, turned a lap of 1:32.499 (98.855 mph). Bill Cooper's Les Stanford/Pirate Racing Chevrolet Corvette C5 was second, with a lap of 1:32.918 (98.409 mph), followed by Peter Cunningham, Michael Galati and Jeff McMillin. The top eight cars were under Cooper's 1999 qualifying mark. Turner, driving the Turner Motorsports/H&R Springs BMW 328is, turned a fastest time of 1:38.897 (92.459 mph) to lead the Speedvision Touring Car contingent. He was followed by points leader Pierre Kleinubing's BuySellorHold.com/RealTime Racing Acura Integra R, which set a fast time of 1:38.900 (92.457 mph). Mike Fitzgerald, Alfred duPont and Steve Pfeffer completed the top-five. The top-seven cars were under Kleinubing's 1999 qualifying mark.
