BOB WOODHOUSE TO DRIVE AT MILLER MOTORSPORTS PARK
BLAIR, Neb. (April 30, 2007) -- Woodhouse Performance announced today Bob Woodhouse will again take the wheel of the No. 13 Kicker/Woodhouse Performance Dodge Viper Competition Coupe. He comes out of retirement to compete in the SPEED World Challenge series for one race, the upcoming Larry H. Miller Grand Prix of Utah at Miller Motorsports Park May 19.
"It has been difficult to be out of the car for so long," Woodhouse said. "I feel fortunate that I am working with people that are flexible and allow me to step in for one race. Yeah, I know what you are thinking, 'Just one? Right.' But I love the Miller track and have confidence that I can do this one race and not be overwhelmed by the driving addictions that keeps so many people attached to this sport."
Woodhouse continued, going into more detail about the reasons for his return.
"Since a season sponsorship on the No. 13 Dodge Viper Competition Coupe was not totally complete, scratching the 'itch' would not disrupt our team obligations." Woodhouse said. "Thanks to Brian Smith, our current driver of the No. 13, for graciously stepping out of the car to allow me this indulgence."
Woodhouse Performance's second Viper, the No. 99 Kenda Tires/ProMPI Dodge Viper Competition Coupe, continues with driver Jeff Courtney, who feels good about his 11th place standing in the points after two races in his first season of GT competition.
"I came into GT after leaving Touring Car as the Rookie of the Year, but knowing that the GT series is an extremely competitive class," Courtney said. "To be knocking on the door of the top-10 after two races is exciting, and we're going to continue to work hard as a team, get better and better, and hopefully higher and higher in the points, starting at Miller."
