FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NEW YORK, N.Y. (July 10, 1997) -- Officials from Warner/Avalon and Professional SportsCar Racing, Inc. (SportsCar) today announced they will be developing the "Spin Experience" music and lifestyle festivals in conjunction with the SportsCar schedule of races. The tour will consist of a music festival featuring artists from the family of Warner Music Group labels and will highlight America's love affair with the automobile. "We recognize the growth of racing and feel there is great opportunity with SportsCar," said Brian Murphy, managing partner of Warner/Avalon. "Just as country music has become synonymous with NASCAR, we feel there's a great tie-in opportunity with SportsCar. Certainly, everybody has a favorite convertible, top-down cruising song."
The Spin Experience is scheduled to begin during the 1998 SportsCar season and will feature many automobile and lifestyle exhibits in addition to the live concerts. SportsCar race fans can expect to see automobile manufacturer concept cars, new model introductions, driving simulators, go-karts, interactive displays and more at the Spin Experience.
"We want to create brand 'activation' -- a memory which links our sponsor's brands not only with an experience or feeling, in this case racing, the freedom and excitement associated with sports cars. You'll see much more brand activation in consumer marketing going forward into the 21st century," said Andrew Evans, chairman of International Motor Sports Group (IMSG), SportsCar's parent company. "In building our entertainment events, there is certainly no better partner than Warner Music Group and its family of companies."
