Joel Miller salvages top 5 result

Joel Miller secured a 5th place finish this past weekend in the Star Mazda Championship that was in support of the American Le Mans Series 12 hours of Sebring event in central Florida. An incident in the first few laps of the race put Miller back to 11th overall from his 3rd place starting position. He kept his cool and with the help of a caution pushed forward catching the 3rd and 4th place running cars on the last lap. Miller tried making his move but ran out of road on the straightaway from turns 7 to 10 at Sebring. "The 4th place car kept coming over leaving the grass as the only possible way by.

I attempted using the grass but knew finishing was more valuable being the first race of the season," quoted Miller after the race. "Fifth is not where I saw us finish the week since we were in the top three every session, but this race is now over and the focus is onto VIR. I have to thank my new mechanic Robert Simpson for his tireless effort during the whole week as well as my new engineer Pete Mercier for his efforts," commented Joel later that day.
