ELKHART LAKE, Wis. (August 20, 2004) -- The summer of 2004 has been action packed for G&W Motorsports. Over the last eight weeks the team has competed in 11 races in three different series. This weekend the Virginia based team will compete in its 12th race since mid-June with the Star Mazda Series event at Road America.
Nineteen-year-old Brian Frisselle (Kihei, Hawaii) will pilot the team's Ventura Travel Services No. 15 Pro Formula Mazda, and 16-year-old Brad Coleman (Houston, Texas) will be at the wheel of the Podium No. 33 Mazda.
After turning in some impressive times during Thursday's pre-event testing, G&W Motorsports' rookie drivers ran in official practice on Friday at Road America, the country's longest road course at 4.048 miles. The day started off well for Coleman, who turned the second-fastest lap time during the opening practice session with a 2:06.529, his best of the day. In the second session, Frisselle topped his teammate's time with his best lap of the day, 2:06.282.
