USF2000 runner-up Jake Eidson will move up the Mazda Road to Indy ladder in 2016, rejoining his old team Cape Motorsports w/ Wayne Taylor Racing in Pro Mazda.
With Cape, Eidson won the 2013 F1600 title and finished third in his rookie season in USF2000, before switching to Pabst for the sophomore campaign.
He was on the podium in all but two races in 2015, but had to do with being runner-up to Cape's new signing Nico Jamin, who he will now partner in Pro Mazda.
“I'm extremely grateful and excited to enter my first season of Pro Mazda and to rejoin Cape Motorsport with Wayne Taylor Racing,” Eidson said.
“After finishing second in last year’s USF2000 championship, we weren't sure if moving up to Pro Mazda was possible. When the season was over, we tested with the Capes and quickly knew that they have a winning team. Fortunately, we were able to make the 2016 season achievable.
“I know that my goal, as well as the team's goal, is to aim for the top spot in the Pro Mazda championship and I have a lot of confidence in their ability to make it happen. This is a dream come true and I can't wait to get started!"
Cape fielded a three-car line-up in Pro Mazda for Daniel Burkett, Florian Latorre and Neil Alberico in 2015, the latter duo scoring a combined total of five wins.
