Crews to Race in Star Mazda Event at the Canadian Grand Prix

DALLAS, June 3 - On Saturday, June 11 CR Crews of Dallas will compete in a Star Mazda race that is a support event to the Canadian Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Gilles Villeneuve Circuit in Montreal, Quebec.

The 17-year-old driver is excited about competing in front of the same huge crowds that attend Formula 1 events, the most prestigious motor racing series in the world.

Crews has been very fast at all three of the Star Mazda events held so far this year only to encounter problems during the races. He is looking to stare bad luck in the face and demand a turn-around in Canada.

He admits his goal of a podium finish is very lofty considering there will be no qualifying. Due to a lack of track time for the support series during the Grand Prix weekend the starting grid for the Star Mazda race will be determined by series points. Crews will start 24th out of 46 entries.

Crews' Pro Formula Mazda race car, which is owned by Grand American driver Forest Barber of Fort Worth, will once again be in the Kodak EasyShare colors he debuted two weeks ago at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

Two earlier Star Mazda races will be shown on SPEED this weekend. Coverage of the Road Atlanta race will air at 11:30 a.m. Central time tomorrow, June 4. On Sunday SPEED will broadcast the Mid-Ohio race at 12:00 p.m. Central time.

Additional information on Crews can be found on his new Web site at CR Crews.com.
