The business strategy will see the new Carrera Cup team establish the company's feeder class and ongoing UK programme. From 2008 the team will also enter the international Porsche Supercup series, supporting the FIA Formula One World Championship. >From here the team's vision is to also compete in international GT racing at the highest level.
Team Co-Principal Gary Blackham said; "We see our entry as a stepping stone programme for not only ourselves but also established and young talented drivers seeking the GT/Sportscar route to international racing. We are passionate about GT racing and our involvement and have waited until we could secure the resources to tackle the task professionally and successfully. Whilst we have secured the hardware the balance of costs requires team partners and the success of that will determine our 2007 driver line-up. Our race entry will also complement our engineering business as new components developed from our racing programme will be marketed for customer race, track-day and road car application."
QM Engineering provides bespoke engineering solutions, manufacturing and fabrication for all levels of motorsport and specialist automotive applications. Their most recent application being the manufacture of the complete vehicle chassis for the highly acclaimed JCB DieselMax land-speed record car.
