Abdulaziz fights back to grab pole position again in Saudi
Riyadh. Saudi Arabia's defending champion, Prince Abdulaziz Al Faisal, shrugged off his race disappointment 24 hours earlier in the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East to grab pole position for the second day in succession at Reem International Circuit, outside Riyadh.
Having slipped to fourth position in Round 5 of the series on Wednesday, Prince Abdulaziz bounced back by setting the fastest time in qualifying for the race which takes the 12-round championship to its half way point later this afternoon.
He was quickest in 1:16.041, ahead of Saudi teenager Fahad Algosaibi, 1:16.349, and Abu Dhabi's Khaled Al Qubaisi, 1:16.642.
Bahrain's championship leader and Round 5 winner, Sheikh Salman bin Rashid Al Khalifa, was fourth fastest in 1:16.649, followed by two other Saudi drivers, Bandar Alireza, 1:16.814, and Bandar Alesayi, 1:16.986.
