VIP Pet Foods driver excluded from race two; results amendment follows

VIP Pet Foods Racing driver Marcus Marshall has received a $5000 suspended fine and been removed from the results of yesterday's second race in round six of the Carrera Cup at Sandown.

Marshall received the penalty for his part in yesterday's incident that resulted in the multiple roll-over of Victorian driver Matt Coleman.

The amendment to the race two results means that Marshall loses the sixth place he had scored and that resulted in the 25-year-old being forced to start from the rear of the grid in today's race in which he finished fifth.

Marshall has been found guilty of breaching National Competition Rule 183(x), the amendment to the results prompting an overhaul of the round and championship pointscores.

<pre> The amended championship points are as follows: 1. Jim Richards 963 2. Marcus Marshall 774 3. Peter Fitzgerald 711 4. Tim Leahey 633 5. Kevin Bell 561 6. Paul Pedersen 405 7. Matt Coleman 372 8. Jonathon Webb 303 9. Dean Cook 288 9. Andrew Miedecke 288
