2004 schedule finalised for Carrera Cup Australia
Ten round championship features new venues and Adelaide opener

Carrera Cup Australia today announced its 2004 season calendar, with the all-Porsche championship to be decided over 10 rounds next year.

New venues on next year's calendar include the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide, Barbagallo in Perth and a non-championship event in New Zealand at Pukekohe.

The championship will also utilise a number of different race formats, with race and qualifying session lengths to be finalised by series organisers in the weeks to come.

Cup Car CEO Jamey Blaikie says that the expansion of the 2004 schedule is further proof of the expansion of the category as a whole following its debut year in Australia this season.

"2003 has been an outstanding debut season for Carrera Cup and we don't intend to rest on our laurels," said Blaikie.

"We will continue to increase the entertainment value of Carrera Cup for the paying public and also increase the involvement of the teams in having to make tactical decisions that will affect their performance."
