The Italian Matteo Bobbi, current KL Minardi Asiatech F1 test driver , was the fastest driver in the First Collective Tests of the 2002 Season. He already commanded the other sessions held yesterday at the Valencian Circuit, under wet conditions. All drivers were driving the Coloni/Nissan fitted with a Nissan engine with 230 HP, instead of the 250 HP (2001 version).

Second fastest driver was the Valencian Borja García (Escuela Lois Circuit), followed by his teammate Jose Manuel Perez Aicart. The young Italian driver Giorgo Sernagioto (Venturini Racing) made an excellent debut on this car, seting the 4th vrtual fastest time.

The 2001 wining team, Epsilon by Graff, was also present at this test with its three drivers. The Spaniard Miguez was 6th overall. Mathias Lauda, the youngest son of the former F1 Champ, Niki Lauda, was 8th.
