Telefonica World Series by Nissan.
Record figures for drivers to take part in a competition.
The R.F.E. de A. and RPM Racing achieve record figures for drivers to take part in an official competition with the Telefonica World Series by Nissan. Almost 60 drivers are involved in this program, 12 days before it commences.
Madrid, 22 April 2002 The Real Federación Española de Automovilismo, and the Spanish company RPM Racing, a company belonging to the Alesport Group, active in organising sports events, have managed to bring together almost 60 young drivers in the Telefónica World Series by Nissan. This is a new record in motor racing competition that will revolutionize the professional competition sector.
The Telefónica World Series will begin in less than 12 days, on 12th May, at the Valencia Circuit.
This initiative has been accomplished thanks to the firm support of the Spanish Royal Federation of Motor Racing, and to RPM Racing, whose wish is to consolidate this sports project as the best single-seater international competition platform in Europe, the flagship of which is the top category World Series, with 415 CV power, and whose single-seaters Dallara Nissan SN01 are capable of developing more than 300 km/h.
The World Series will bring together at their starting grids 20 champions, in a truly unique category, with maximum benefits, and will be consolidated as a Spanish-based international professional championship, avoiding the previously obligatory international migration of Spanish drivers.
The Fórmula Nissan 2000 (220 CV) and the recently created Fórmula Junior (125 CV) Spanish Championship complete this excellent sports program. Both categories are aimed at allowing, at a very moderate cost, go-kart drivers access to the single-seater special field, and their subsequent progress to professional driving.
