A Better Car And Giacomo Piccini Can Prove His Talent.
Giacomo Piccini went back to Jarama for the 2nd round of the Spanish Formula 3 championship and this time around Giacomo knows that he has found the right path that will lead him to be a front line driver.
After a terrible debut in Albacete, the young Tuscan driver decided to revolutionize his car and the results have proven to be positive.
Only a touch of misfortune prevented Giacomo from reaching the front line. Both Race 1 and Race 2 were characterized by two collisions that pushed Giacomo off track twice at the start.
Giacomo's performance arouse enthusiasm in race 1: although he was last in line, the Tuscan didn't lose sight of his goal and started to progressively overtake some positions. Giacomo finished in 7th place and was even the fastest out of all his team-mates.
A new accident at the start of Race 2 ruined it for Giacomo. Piccini's car was completely off balance after a strong collision and Giacomo was forced to accept the 13th place finish.
"I come home from Jarama, with a lot of faith seeing that I found the right feeling with the car. Had it not been for the two collisions that threw me off track, I would have conquered a better position. However, I'm not one to complain or to justify himself, because I'd rather underline the progress we made during the races.
In Race 1, I was the fastest driver of my team. From the last position, I climbed my way up and overtook many adversaries.
We still have a few problems with the qualifications because we aren't able to take full advantage of the new tyres. We need to work in this direction for the next race. I'm optimistic and that why I can't wait to see my progress at the next round in Jerez. Jerez will be hosting the next Spanish Formula 3 race on June 6th."
