Vincec rebounds after trouble

HOMESTEAD, FLA Sunoco Team Ultra 94 driver Mike Vincec is at Homestead this weekend for rounds five and six of the Skip Barber Southern Region Championship. Vincec was third in the point's standings heading into round five, and he was looking forward to a strong result.

"I qualified 8th, but I thought that I could move up in the first race of the weekend," Vincec said. Vincec had a good start and by the halfway point of the race, he was up to fourth, running laps quicker than the leader.

"I felt much better in the race, but going into turn two I sort of out-braked myself and ended up in the gravel," a dejected Vincec said.

Vincec was able to get going again, and he was able to move forward in the remaining laps to finish 8th. "It's not the result I would have hoped for, but tomorrow looks promising with the speed I had today."

Round six of the Skip Barber Southern Championship will be held on Sunday, January 27.
