The first two recipients of the Pi Data Technicians of the Race were awarded at Sebring International Raceway and Homestead-Miami Speedway during the first two rounds of the Barber Dodge Pro Series.

Gary Michalak was selected in Sebring while David Labarr was the recipient in Homestead. Both are first year Barber Dodge mechanics. Each received a $100.00 cash award from Pi Research Inc., makers of the world renowned Pi Data on board data acquisition systems. In addition, another $100.00 was donated on each of their behalves to the year-end mechanics fund.

Michalak earned the award after going the extra mile to insure that the all-aluminum Dodge V6 motors continued to operate in top form during the long Sebring race week. Labarr was selected for the excellent work he carried out in accommodating the requests of the drivers in his charge.

As announced last week on Skip Barber Racing News, Pi Research Inc. have increased the Barber Dodge Pro Series Career Enhancement Award for the series champion an additional $5000.00. This is on top of the $2400.00 total allocated to the Pi Data Technician of the race prize fund.

Senior Crew Chief Keith Dalton and Shop Forman Steve Levinsohn select the Pi Data Technician of the race.
