RAIN FALLS, LEADERS SPIN, SCHIE WINS LIME ROCK, Conn. (May 25, from Rick Roso) - In the Barber Dodge Pro Series race at Lime Rock Park, Thomas Schie of Norway stayed on the track while the leaders slid off the road following a sudden rain shower halfway through the scheduled 40-minute race to win round two of the $1.1M championship. The race finished under a full-course caution on lap 30, about 10 less than anticipated, as the tight raceday schedule would not allow changing the entire field to wet tires. Round one winner Todd Snyder of Massachusetts finished second. The defending race winner, Rino Mastronardi of Italy, was handily in the lead over polesitter Nicolas Rondet when the rain began to fall, but he slid off in turn three (The Lefthander) and finished third. Rocky Moran, Jr., was as high as fifth place before he too spun in the very slippery conditions of the last three green laps.
