(CENTERVILLE, Ohio) Feb. 16, 2000 -Bryan Sellers, 1999 Barber Formula Dodge Midwest Series Champion and 1999 Rookie of the Year, will run the full 2000 Skip Barber Formula Dodge National Championship series with sponsorship from GlobalCenter Inc.
"I'm absolutely delighted with this opportunity," Sellers stated. "I wanted to move up from the Formula Dodge Series, and the new National Championship series will introduce me to racing in winged cars, on slicks. I expect that some of the top Formula Dodge drivers will race in this series, and the competition should be fierce. Leo Hindery and GlobalCenter have given me the resources to compete in the full series, and there aren't words enough to thank them adequately."
The seven weekend, 13 round Skip Barber Formula Dodge National Championship presented by RACER, kicks off May 19-21 at Grattan Raceway in Grattan, Mich. This new series pits the top ranked amateur open wheel racers in North America against one another, and promises to deliver some of the most competitive racing ever witnessed at this level. Featuring the new Formula Dodge R/T 2000, a new race car jointly developed by world famous Formula One and Champ Car builder Reynard Motorsport and Skip Barber Racing School, the ability of this series to spawn a new generation of professional North American open-wheel racers is unparalleled.
"What truly sets this series apart," according to Skip Barber, "is that it is the only amateur series where the drivers get in based on their proven speed rather than their ability to pay for it."
