The 2010 Execuline South African National Formula Vee Championship, heads to the coast this weekend, for round four of the 2010 Championship, to be held at the Aldo Scribante Circuit in Port Elizabeth, on the 8th May 2010. The race will be the half way mark, for the season and as yet, no clear favorite has emerged, with a mere twelve points separating the first five positions, on the National Championship log. In fact log leader, ex National Champion Peter Hills (#19 Renexcon Rhema 2) does not have a single win to his name, from the six heats that have already been contested this year and the driver with the most wins, Zaahir Essa (#71 NLDTF Reflex Solutions Rhema 2) is still only in fourth place, on the log. The others, in the top five, are Nicholas Tennant (#14 Tennant Life Benefits Rhema 2) who celebrates his twentieth birthday on race day, in Port Elizabeth, the other ex National Champion in the field, Symm Grobler (#7 Auto Mecca Rhema 2) and Paul Venter (#42 Laser).
Challenging them, at Port Elizabeth, should be Alan Eustice (#16 Execuline Rhema 2), Nico Blignaut (#15 Gilus IT SAP Rhema 2), Greg Wilson (#30 Reflex Solutions Rhema 2), Ben Pienaar (#11 BJ Pro Welding Rhema 2) and Mile Stewart (#61 Direction Group Rhema 2). For Venter, Blignauht, Wilson and Stewart, it will be their first visit to Aldo Scribante and their first few laps of Friday's open practice session will be devoted to learning the circuit.
Included in the day's proceedings, will be races for EP Regional Saloon Cars, EP Regional Motorcycles, Historic and Classical Saloons, Marque Cars, Hatch Class and Breakfast Run Motorcycles.
