Toronto, Ont. (July 12, 2003) - Aim Autosport Racing Team driver Andrew Ranger took the checkered flag in the inaugural Fran-Am 2000 North American Pro Molson Indy race at Exhibition Stadium in Toronto on Saturday. His triumph on home soil came a day after qualifying second on the grid for today's race, not bad for a 16 year-old.

Fellow countryman Marc-Antoine Camirand of Gelles Racing, who started on the pole, finished less than a second back (0.884), while Autotechnica's Charles Hall took the final podium spot, 1.233 of a second off the pace. Hall captured the winter series title earlier this year.

Juan Martin Ponte of the EuroInternational Team was 9.027 seconds back and Robert Bell of Team First/Air rounded out the top five, 10.597 seconds behind the leader.

All of the cars in the Fran-Am 2000 class are built to the same technical specifications by Italian chassis manufacturer Tatuus. They are the latest generation of Formula Renault racecars.
