Barcelona, May 31th .- Already 27 drivers had been inscribed in this Series since the Open Telefonica 2001 started. The last one has been NICOLAS FILIBERTI, who has signed for PSN RACING. FILIBERTI participated in the 1998 edition, winned by MARC GENE (BMW WILLIAMSF1), and he finished 8th, after visiting the podium three times. That experience, was, with any doubt, very positive for the 23 year old driver: " The Open Telefonica Series is a challenge because is a very competitive Championship. The results in that occassion were good and I was fighting for the Final Victory till the end. Most of the Teams were newcomers, and today they have a great experience. Mi participation opened the doors to the Italian F3000."

Nicolas Filiberti tested in Barcelona (15/16 May) in the Circuit of Catalonia. The driver lapped 1.36.716. For Nicolas, the Coloni CN1/N "is a very good Single-Seater, splendid in the speed when you enter the curve, and very good chassis."

Filiberti is the fourth driver that comes from the FIA F3000 Series, as well as Cochet (Venturini Racing), former French F3 Champion, Scheckter (Venturini Racing) and the Leader, the French Franck Montagny (Epsilon by Graf): "I came from the F3000 and I'm used to a more powerful cars. I can take an advantage of my prior experience as I know very well the car. But the drivers I have to face are very fast, and the have a lot of experience...Cochet and Scheckter also have the experience of driving in a Formula One"

Tomas Sckecter is the record holder of the Series in Valencia (1.27.171 - 165,39 km/h)
