ELKHART LAKE, Wis. (July 8, 2000)-- Marc-Antoine Camirand, of Trois- Rivieres, Que., Can., captured the pole for race two, Round Six, for the U.S. F2000 National Championship Presented by Speedvision Road America 500 at Road America. Bryce Miller, of Bernardsville, N.J. and Aaron Justus, of Crestline, Calif. rounded out the top-three. After a two-hour delay, for heavy rain showers, Camirand, driving the No. 96 Key Motorsport Van Diemen Ford, captured the pole for the second race of the double header at Road America. Camirand, on a very slick track posted a quick time of 2:39.063 (91.616 mph). The pole is Camirand's seventh in his career and ties him for fourth on the all-time list. "I have a lot of experience in the rain and like it, " said Camirand. "Earlier in the year Peter (Walsh) and Daniel (Muniz) did a two-day test in the rain, so we have a pretty good setup. I want to win both races, but realize getting points is important here." Driving the No. 36 Lucent Technologies Van Diemen Ford, Miller captured his best-ever starting position in the wet conditions. Miller posted a quick lap of 2:39.925 (91.122 mph). "Ever since karting I've loved the rain," said Miller. "The wet conditions really level the playing field. I'm pretty excited about starting up front." Justus, driving the No. 32 Forsythe/Indeck Racing/Torco Van Diemen Ford, battled the adverse conditions to the post the third quickest time, 2:40.789 (90.633 mph). "When I woke and saw the rain I wasn't happy," said Justus. "I don't have much experience in the rain, and don't enjoy it. For that reason I'm really pleased about starting third." Rounding out the top five is Memo Rojas Jr., of Mexico City, Mexico and James Eaton, of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
