Starting second, but finishing first, Ricardo Imery drove away to victory in the SCCA Central Florida Region FF2000 season opener.

Imery, who is a Skip Barber Three Day Racing School grad and Formula Dodge competitor took the checkered flag 7.4 sec. ahead of his nearest rival in the 28-car field. The 27 year-old Venezuelan led the hotly contested 30-minute sprint race from start to finish. He eventually built his lead to the winning margin following a full course caution period.

Setting his sights on this year’s SCCA Nationals, Imery also hopes to compete in the Skip Barber Race Series before moving on to the Barber Dodge Pro Series. His FF2000 team is managed by Amores Motorsports.
