Test Notes at Mid-Ohio

- The Zetec Championship ran one hour long session early in the morning and one hour long session in the mid-afternoon on the Thursday test day.

- Both sessions were run under clear skies, in warm temperatures with mild humidity.

- The session was the first for No. 2 Jones with his new team, Roquin Motorsports. Jones is using the car previously driven by Luis Schiavo.

- No. 4 Fonferko is making his 2002 debut with Cape Motorsports this weekend. Fonferko previously ran in the Zetec Championship in 2002, after winning the Jim Russell USAC Triple Crown Championship. Fonferko is driving the car previously driven by No. 2.

- In the morning session several cars went off course, with no significant damage.

- The morning session was briefly halted, after No. 8 Clarke spun and became high-sided on the curb.

- No. 6 McDonough changed the thermostat following the morning session, after reporting some overheating.

- No. 19 Urlin was reported to have a loose front nose during the session and replaced the rear diffuser after some minor damage from going off-course.

- No. 85 Brumbaugh reported losing power exiting the corners and was examining the engine after the session.

- No. 24 McIntosh changed gears between the sessions.

- The afternoon session was halted late in the session, after No. 19 hit the tire barriers exiting turn one. The car suffered significant damage to the right rear corner, as well as damaging the nose.

- No. 22 Aube made light contact with another car in the session, damaging the front nose.

- No. 7 Massari battled handling problems during the session, due to a broken rear sway bar.

- No. 6 suffered overheating again in the afternoon session, damaging the head gasket.

- No. 14 Groom was struggling with setup, after missing the last round at Mid-Ohio and being unfamiliar with the new A24 Avon tire compound.

- No. 85 suffered the same loss in power in the afternoon session.

- No. 85 Irving was changing gears following the afternoon session.

- No. 11 Rubenzer did not run the test day after suffering engine problems.

- Five ACC cars decided not run the test session, as they have previous experience on the 2.258-mile road course.

- Round Nine of the Formula Ford 2000 Zetec Championship official commences Friday at 8:25 a.m. (ET), with a thirty-minute practice session.
