Race 2 came to an abrupt end for 19 year old driver Andy Brumbaugh on Sunday morning, August 3. Going into turn 5, on lap 1, while attempting to pass a competitor, Andrew was forced onto the grass, which shoved him out into the other driver. This broke his suspension resulting in a loss of steering ability and that caused him to hit the concrete wall.

Needless to say, his day was done as there was significant damage to his car. "I did not think I was making an unwise move. I saw that I was being forced down onto the grass, so I was off the gas, just trying to get through the turn. I was surprised that I was not given the courtesy to just get through the corner. I feel badly that my mechanic, Ben, had so much work to do before being able to move on to Mid-Ohio. However, I Know that Cape Motorsports and all their people will have my machine as good as new for that event."
