MSA Formula champion Lando Norris will join the Toyota Racing Series field in New Zealand for the 2016 season.
The Briton, 16, won this year’s MSA Formula title in what was his first year of car racing, having stepped up from karts after winning the world championship on 2014.
Now he will head to New Zealand over the southern hemisphere summer to bank more seat time in the TRS, before taking on the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup series next season.
“Lando is a very exciting young talent who has already proven he has the outright speed to be a title contender in TRS,” said series boss Barrie Thomlinson.
“It will be interesting to see how he approaches the challenge that TRS will provide.”
Norris will race as part of a six-car M2 Competition squad, which will also include Pedro Piquet.
The series kicks off at Ruapuna Park on January 16.
