Andrej Pavicevic: "Monza was a total disaster, from the test to the race. In testing I was quickest on old tyres by 4 / 10ths of a second but when we tested new tyres I lost 1.5 seconds per lap. From that moment onwards the team was playing catch up and they never really did catch up to their tails. In qualifying I hit one of the kerbs too hard and damaged the front wing, but still I got in a mega lap which was near enough to perfect as I could get it but I was still 1.1 seconds off pole. It was obvious to all that the car was just painfully too slow. The warm up was somewhat better on Sunday morning. I actually had the 4th fastest time ( 1:39.59sec ) but had it disallowed by the stewards as I passed the chequered flag twice. I thought I had a good balance for the race but unfortunately I never got that far to find out. My race was over before it started! A gearbox failure on the start of the warm up lap put an end to any hopes of a good result and finally buried the most disasturous racing weekend of my life. My new team mate Dino Morelli suffered the same fate, his gearbox held out to the last corner of the warm up lap. This is not the way to move forward and to acheive results, it's the way to end careers! I have plenty to think about before my next race as there are many decisions to be made. I can only apologise to my loyal sponsor Zepter, to my fans, the people that follow my career over the net, and to my family & friends. I am certain that with the right car I can win and I will never stop trying or give up. The people who know me know that!"
