Magny-Cours, 30 August 2002 - Borja Garcia (Venturini Racing) got his first victory of the season in the first race of the Formula Nissan 2000, the intermediate category of the Telefonica World Series by Nissan hold in the Nevers Magny-Cours circuit (France). The current leader and the second classified in overall standings, Santiago Porteiro and Matteo Bobbi, were obliged to give up the race. The Spanish is still the leader.
Bobbi suffered a stop and go for jump-start and this made him lost his chances to win the race. The Italian driver run a trip into the gravel some laps later and he was not able to recover. Porteiro didn't take profit of this situation, because his car had problems with a tyre and sent him pitwards. Bobbi made the best lap, so he stretched the difference in overall standings. Tomorrow will take place the second race.
