Lance Stroll clinches Italian F4 championship

Lance Stroll has secured the 2014 Italian F4 championship in Vallelunga.

Canadian racer and son of Lawrence Stroll (who is rumored to be buying an F1 team) has locked up the 2014 F4 championship with two race weekends still remaining in the season.

The 15-year-old has won seven of the 15 races contested this year, doing so for the Prema Powerteam. The final two events will take place at Monza and Imola. His closest rival is Italian Andrea Russo, who has scored 153 points this season, only half of what Lance has been able to acquire.

"My teammate (Brandon Maïsano) was leading the race in front of me and I kept in line with him in order to pass him before the finish line. I wanted a championship title because of what I did on track, rather than because of the points I have scored in the championship," an enthusiastic Stroll said.

Lance Stroll, the second-youngest driver to ever be signed into the developmental program of an F1 team, is definitely on the fast lane to success. Remember this name, it won't be the last time you hear it...
