The Repsol backed driver, Angel Burgueño, leads in El Jarama.

Madrid, 25 April 2002 ? Home driver Angel Burgueño (Meycom Repsol) was the quickest guy in the final day of the Second Collective Tests of the World Series. At the Circuit of El Jarama, Burgueño lapped 1.23.157, very close to the track official record achieved by Emanuele Pirro in the Lemans Series (1.23.035).

Team TATA RC Motorsport, with Narain Kartikheyan, the Frenchman Franck Montagny and his team mate, Justin Wilson, the UK former F3000 champion followed the Spaniard ace.

Ten top drivers were packed in the same second, showing again how performant this Series will be when they finally start at Valencia, the next 12 of May.

GD Racing confirmed today that the Spanish Rafael Sarandeses will be his second driver. The young Spaniard will be sponsorized by the International company, Pepsico,with one of his most famous soft drinks: 7UP.

LAUDA, A STAR YET TO BE CONFIRMED

FIA Series F Nissan 2000 started to test this afternoon. Several good drivers will be amongst his entering list, like the Italian Matteo Bobbi, the official KL MINARDI ASIATECH test driver, that will join the F-1 team tomorrow. Another Italian hope will make his debut this year, the young Sernagiotto. But the most-media-attended driver is Mathias Lauda. The Austrian will also debut in competition with Epsilon by Graff.

The afternoon session was leaded by the Spanish Formula 1300 Champ, Juan Antonio del Pino (Repsol Meycom). F Nissan 2000 drivers will continue to test tomorrow.
