Formula Master: Trident Racing keep second place in team's standings.
Trident Racing ended up the Valencia weekend by repeating, in the second race on the schedule, the result scored on Saturday. Harald Schlegelmilch ended up in 2nd place just like Kasper Andersen did on race 1, while Alejandro Nunez managed to score a points finish at the end of an impressive comeback run. Despite a small but definitive mistake by Kasper Andersen that forced him to abandon the race early, the team`s balance appears positive. All the drivers managed to score points, with two podium finishes and a 2nd place in qualifying. The team will be back on-track in two weeks, on the tough and spectacular Pau street track.
Alessandro Alunni Bravi, Managing Director
"The balance of the first round at Valencia is really positive, thanks to the great results scored by Trident Racing at its first outing in the highly-competitive International Formula Master. Our team is back from Valencia aware of the potential shown on-track and confirmed by the strong performances put together during the whole weekend, but focused on reaching a winning form sooner than possible. The trip to Spain is already behind our shoulders, as we got back to work immediately to prepare for the next rounds, where we`ll once again be facing an extremely strong concurrence. We`ll have to confront, and possibly beat some truly top-notch squads like JD Motorsport, Cram and Jenzer. I want to praise and thank all the personnel of Trident Racing, as well as all our partners, like N-Technology, LRM and Yokohama. Their great and continued support enabled us to focus on the car`s set-up. They all deserve our reconnaissance for their extremely valuable partnership, somethings tough to find even in more renowned and long-running series"
"I`m very satisfied with the podium finish scored on Race 2 because it`s a great way to start our season. I`m sorry for not have been able to fight for the win until the end due to an abnormal tire wear. We`re gonna work on that before the next round. In Qualifying, the car turned out to be very fast, though we could not hit the top due to diverse circumstances. I`m really looking forward to Pau. I never seen the track in person, but the videos I had a look at shown a nice layout, where I hope to play a part in the fight for victory"
"Despite Race 2 turned out to be really short, the weekend`s balance`s still very positive. In Practice, Qualifying and on Race 1 I was constantly on top, with the only shame of having ended the weekend early on Sunday, failing to score points that might have been surely valuable to improve our standing position. Van Der Drift won the two races at Valencia, but the championship is still long to go and I`m sure we`ll be able to keep improving. The next round will be really particular, as we`ll be approaching the temporary street Pau track. A top starting position will be necessary to stay in the game until the end".
"I`m happy with how this weekend ended up, as this was an occasion to increase my feeling with the team. My goal was to end both races, in order to make experience and score some points, and we finally made it. Maybe I`ve been a little conservative at the beginning, but I changed approach on Race 2, especially after midpoint. I`m looking forward to Pau. I raced there in Formula 3 in 2005, and it was very very special. I expect an interesting yet unpredictable weekend".
