The fourth round of the International Formula Master ended yesterday at Estoril, Portugal. Trident Racing took some quite consistent results, proving to have the right team spirit and scoring a great weekend balance, though a well-hoped podium finish eventually didn`t come. All the team`s drivers stayed constantly into the points zone and consolidated their standing positions, as well as the second overall place for Trident Racing itself. The first race, held on Saturday, had a decisive moment in its final lap, as both Schlegelmilch and Andersen managed to steal a position from Llobel, ending up just meters shy of a podium finish. On Race 2, a strong wind conditioned the day, adding another tricky variable. Kasper Andersen and Harald Schlegelmilch lost one place at the start and, despite having tried all-race long, they didn`t find a way through the order, despite having a faster pace. Alejandro Nuñez had a great improvement over his starting position, and managed to end up into the top-10 thanks to persistance and some good moves. The Formula Masters will be back on-track at Brands Hatch: the English venue will the 5th seasonal round in two weeks.
Alessandro Alunni Bravi, Managing Director
"The balance of the weekend is pretty ok, as Trident Racing scored some valuable points and kept 2nd place in the team`s classification. In both races we stayed with our eyes on the podium zone with Kasper and Harald. We have the regret of not having made it to the top-3: yesterday`s race was decided at the start, when Harald and Kasper lost one spot. They then also surrendered to Chris Van Der Drift, who kept an incredible pace at the start. Unfortunately, late in the race, Sandtler defended his position from the attacks of the Dutchman, creating a long line of cars that virtually neutralized the cars` performance. We`re heading towards Brands Hatch hoping to reduce the gap from the series` leader with a win, and target the second place currently held by Ammermuller".
