Giuliano Alesi, the 15-year-old son of former Ferrari Formula 1 hero Jean Alesi, has taken his first steps on the motorsport ladder.
Alesi Jr will race in the French F4 Championship, and participated in the first training week arranged by the Auto Sport Academy this week at Le Mans.
“I am very happy and looking forward to starting my career in single-seaters, and I intend to prepare myself in the best way possible before making my debut in the first meeting at Ledenon,” said Alesi.
"These training weeks are important for drivers because they allow us to prepare for the championship in the best conditions and to address various issues such as the regulation of motor sport, mechanical knowledge, data acquisition, road safety and nutrition as well as taxation, business law and prevention of doping.
“The draw for the cars we're driving throughout the season was done early in the week and I was able test my car during the first official day on the Bugatti circuit at Le Mans. After a successful installation and a well-handling car I get to celebrate Easter with family relieved and happy."
Alesi starts the second training week on April 7 before the first round proper at Ledenon on April 18/19.
