THREE DRIVERS, ONE TITLE: THE GLOVES ARE OFF!
2008 FPA Championship goes down to the wire at Silverstone
The 2008 Henderson Formula Palmer Audi Championship season finale will take place at Silverstone next week (18/19/20 September) and three drivers still remain in this year's title hunt.
Jason Moore has led the championship since the first round at Donington Park in April, scoring six victories and a further seven podiums during the season. With a fifteen point advantage over nearest rival Tom Bradshaw, the 19 year-old from Bedford is confident of his title hopes.
Jason Moore said: "I haven't competed at Silverstone before but I'm feeling pretty good about my chances. I'm not nervous as I don't have to win races to take the championship, I've just got to make sure that I finish. Bradshaw is my main threat but I'm confident that I can learn the circuit quickly and finish ahead of him in the race."
Second place Tom Bradshaw has hauled himself into contention by winning four of the last six races including a hat-trick at Snetterton in August. Like Moore, Bradshaw has taken six victories in 2008, and the Blackburn-based 19 year-old hopes for a strong final round performance.
Tom Bradshaw said: "I've just got to keep my head down at Silverstone and hope Jason makes a mistake! Seriously, I can only do my best but the championship fight is definitely still on. It is going to be difficult as Jason and Jolyon are strong contenders, but I'm going to go for it."
Also challenging for championship glory at Silverstone will be 17 year-old Jolyon Palmer, who has driven in a mature and consistent manner this season to clinch ten podium finishes and secure third place in the points table. He currently stands seven points behind Tom Bradshaw and twenty-two points behind Jason Moore.
There will be further battles throughout the field in the 2008 Henderson Formula Palmer Audi Championship finale including a fight for fourth place between Richard Plant and Jack Clarke, whilst Adam Foster, Daniel Brown and Paul Rees will be vying for the honour of top rookie driver.
