Ryan Hooker makes the journey to the Wiltshire circuit of Castle Combe this weekend for the final rounds of the 2003 Visma Software Formula Palmer Audi championship. Ryan, from Essex, is currently lying in third place in the championship going into the last two races of the season.

"Hopefully, if I can get a good result in the first race it will effectively secure my third place in the championship" says Ryan, "then I can really enjoy race two!"

Ryan is already familiar with Castle Combe though this will be his first time at the circuit in a single seater race car. "Last year I raced at Castle Combe in the Porsche 924 Series" Ryan recalls, "in fact it was one of my best races as I won from 11th on the grid so the circuit has good memories for me and I went on to win the championship. It is quite a bumpy circuit, very fast and there are over taking opportunities so I'm sure it will be action packed this weekend and I'm looking forward to it."

Two practice sessions and one qualifying session will be held on Saturday 13th September whilst the second qualifying session will be held in the morning on Sunday 14th before the two races later in the day.

Formula Palmer Audi, created and organised by former Formula One driver Jonathan Palmer, sees competitors race single seater race cars with identical 275bhp turbo Audi engines with an overboost feature which allows drivers a 6-second boost to 325bhp, a system which can be used eight times in each race testing the drivers skill and judgement to the utmost.
