Formula Palmer Audi race winner eyeing the F2 scholarship prize

French driver Maxime Jousse - brother of F2 race winner Julien - is returning for a second season in the Formula Palmer Audi Championship in 2010.

Jousse took his maiden FPA victory at Silverstone in 2009 and scored a total of four podiums during an impressive debut campaign. Despite an unfortunate mid-season run of non-finishes, the talented 18-year-old showed consistent front running pace towards the end of the year, and such strong form marks Maxime as one of the pre-season favourites going into the new season.

Prior to 2009, Jousse spent two years racing on the continent in Formula Renault, where he scored one pole position and three podiums. Now living in the UK with his brother, Maxime hopes to follow in the footsteps of Julien by graduating to Formula Two, as he targets the 2010 Formula Palmer Audi title and the 100,000 GBP F2 scholarship prize.

Maxime Jousse said: "I am aiming for the title for sure. Last season was good for me -- things got better and better as the year went on and I felt very confident of challenging for wins towards the end of 2009. Now I need to carry this momentum into my second FPA campaign, where I will be aiming to challenge for victories at every race. I have the right level of experience now -- it wasn't always easy to be consistent in my first season but now I know the championship, the circuits and the car. I have been working extremely hard over the winter and the only target is to win the championship. I want to move up to Formula Two and I am confident that I can achieve my goal."
