Belicchi, Bobbi and Zadotti: time for home racing!
Barcelona, 12 July 2001 - The International Single Seater Series won by Marc Gené (1998), Fernando Alonso (1999) and Antonio García (2000) will celebrate its FIFTH ROUND in Monza this week-end.
Tomas Scheckter, the 21 year old driver original from South Africa and currently racing for Team Vergani, is already in the mitical track: "I want to defend my little advantage respect Montagny, this is my team's home race and they deserve the very best."
Franck Montagny (23) is just 8 points behind the lead. Although he won the first second race at Valencia, the first race was just a nightmare, as the Nissan 2.0 engined Single-Seater had some technical problems right after the Start.
Andrea Belicchi (SITEC Motorsport), third in the Series, has very good memories from the prior editions of the Championship, as he won one of races each of the years (1999,2000).
Italy is no doubt expecting this Series since very long, as the OPEN TELEFONICA involves FIVE Italian teams. This will be the third visit of the Open Telefonica and the second time in the year that the Championship goes across the Spanish boundaries, Portugal (Circuit of Estoril) and France (Circuit of Magny-Cours) are also in the programm.
