Michael Krumm having secured his first pole position of the season at the Fuji Circuit in Japan, failed to take the start of the race. His car developed an electrical problem on the grid so Michael was unable to start the engine of his car to complete the green flag lap.

The Marshals attempted to push start Michael's car once the field had left the grid for the formation lap, without success, and the No. 6 car was returned to the garage.

Team 5Zigen traced the problem to the Battery master switch, but by this time 10 laps had elapsed and Michael's day was over.

"This is definitely the toughest day of my racing career, I have never experienced anything like this before, it is incredibly frustrating. Our car was very good here and I am sure we would have had a good race today but we lost the chance completely.

"Today was definitely my best chance to turn the year round and take the championship lead, but now I am afraid that we will be working all year to consolidate second position. There are still six races left and Tora has a 12 point lead, so it is possible but not easy " Michael said from Japan on Sunday evening.
