Michael Krumm took his first pole position of the season at the Fuji Circuit in Japan today. Both qualifying sessions were completed in dry overcast conditions, and featured Michael and Tora Takaghi at the head of the time sheets.

Tora held provisional pole at the end of the first session with a time of 1,16.639 just ahead of Michael at 1,16.644.

In the second qualifying session both Tora and Michael made initial runs on new tyres and then a final attack on their last set of new tyres.

Michael took pole position with a time of 1,16.400 on his 11th Lap of 15 and Tora finished in second position with a time of 1,16.452 on his final and 15th. Lap, to complete the closest qualifying session this season.

"My lap was very good, I pushed as hard as I ever have and we secured pole, which is not so important here in Fuji, but still very good. Now we have a long race tomorrow and we will see, as usual I will give it my best," Michael commented Saturday Night from Fuji.
