Visitors to the 2001 International Motor Show in Melbourne will be treated to an exclusive first peek at the all new livery on Rick Kelly's Formula Holden when they visit the Yokohama stand over the next week and a half. The Reynard 95D to be driven by the 18 Year old Holden Young Lion has arrived fresh from the paint shop only two days ago, and today will be its first appearance in public, the car now on display right up until the last day of the show on Monday March 12.
Patrons lucky enough to make it into the show this Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening will also have the opportunity to meet Rick Kelly in person and talk with the Mildura ace who is set to explode onto the Formula Holden scene on March 25th. when the Holden Australian Drivers Championship kicks off at the ultra-fast Phillip Island circuit.
2001 not only marks the Formula Holden debut for Kelly, but also the Japanese High Performance Tyre Company, Yokohama, as part of its ongoing global commitment to Motorsport have decided to sponsor and support the Formula Holden Australian Championship series. Yokohama's commitment includes the development of a new control tyre which will be introduced at the first round of the championship at Phillip Island.
The two month test and development program at three championship series circuits over the off season has resulted in the selection by both teams and Yokohama of the suitable control tyre.
