Another Formula 3 Podium for Tiago Monteiro ends the Race at Ledenon in 3rd Position
Tiago Monteiro, driving a Dallara/Renault Sodemo for the ASM Team, ended the third round of the French Formula 3 Championship, held in Ledenon, in the third position. A positive result for Monteiro, who has once again stood on the podium and is still a strong candidate for the Championship title.
"I started off well and passed Fukuda", remarked Monteiro, who started the race from the second grid position: "Unfortunately, in Ledenon the first grid row is on a lofty and Bruno Besson took advantage of that fact and positioned himself next to me at the beginning of the first corner. Two cars couldn't fit, and he pushed me out. I got one tier in the grass, but I was able to control the car. I tried to get back on track before Fukuda passed, but it wasn't possible, so I passed to third", remembered Tiago Monteiro.
"During mid-race, Besson was leading, but he made a mistake and was thrown off track. Ryo Fukuda passed to first, and I was about to do the same, when Besson came back on track, forcing me to lift me foot from the gas to prevent a crash. From then on, I realized how hard it would be to overtake, since it is very tough to overtake on this track, so I decided to think about the Championship".
The fight for the Championship is quite spicy, with the three candidates briefly separated by four points. If we analyze the fact that in a race, there are 20 points at stake for the leading position...
