D'Agostino completes first successful test at Donington with Team JLR.
Young American Joe D'Agostino recently completed the first of a series of pre-season tests this past Tuesday with Team JLR, in preparation for the 2004 British Formula Ford Championship.
On Tuesday (March 9th) D'Agostino and Team JLR were at Donington Park. This was the first time D'Agostino had been back in a racing car since his accident while racing in New Zealand. Having never seen Donington Park before D'Agostino had a lot to learn under tricky conditions, as at one point there were close to 45 cars on track. However, D'Agostino put his best foot forward and ended the day unofficially 4th fastest of the Formula Fords.
"I am really happy with how things went today, the team did a fantastic job and I feel we have a very competitive package. I was able to make good progress all day and felt very confident despite not being in a car for sometime. Donington Park is an incredible circuit with lots of challenging sections and I look forward to racing here. It was a great place to jump back into a racing car and it's good to be back."
The team then headed to Silverstone on Friday but testing was cancelled due to about six-inches of snow covering the ground. D'Agostino will be testing at Donington Park next week on Thursday the 18th of March, and then will be back to Silverstone on the 19th of March.
D'Agostino would like to take the opportunity to thank all of his sponsors: Arai Helmets, Skip Barber Racing School, Sparco, The Mayes Group, and all of his personal sponsors.
