D'Agostino has star-spangled weekend at Thruxton
Hampshire, England -- Reigning UK Formula Ford Scholarship ClassChampion Joe D'Agostino once again showed why he is the driver tobeat, taking a clean sweep of all available points for the 9th and10th Rounds of the UK Formula Ford Championship at the Thruxtoncircuit.
After blitzing the field in qualifying by putting his Mockett.com TeamJLR Van Diemen on pole by over 0.5 of a second for both of theweekend's races D'Agostino earned his 6th consecutive pole positionthis year.
With the red lights out the field was underway with D'Agostinomaintaining his pole advantage. After a close first few lapsD'Agostino sensed his opportunity, driving off into the distancesetting fastest race lap even without the crucial draft. In the endthe American had pulled just over 3 seconds clear of his nearestcompetitor in what was a masterful display.
The stage was then again set for Race 2 and the pressure was on forD'Agostino to pull off the double to claw back valuable points onChampionship rival Charlie Donnelly. With another faultless startD'Agostino wasted no time in easing away from his pursuers once againsetting fastest race lap en route to his 6th victory of the year, witha win margin of 4.4 seconds.
D'Agostino's victories came on top of a double victory in the BritishF3 Championship races at Thruxton for fellow countryman CharlieKimball. "It's been a star-spangled weekend!" said a jubilantD'Agostino.
After a complete sweep of all available championship points from theweekend D'Agostino, 2nd in the Championship, more than halved thepoints lead enjoyed by rival Charlie Donnelly with the gap down tojust 12 points.

The 11th and 12th Rounds of the UK Formula Ford Championship will beheld on the 24th-25th of June at the Castle Combe circuit inWiltshire.
