D'Agostino has an adventurous weekend

Norfolk, England -- Joey D'Agostino and Team JLR recently competed in the 7th and 8th rounds of the UK Formula Ford Championship held at the Snetterton circuit this past weekend. D'Agostino was keen on an even better showing after a solid 3rd overall and a sweep of the Scholarship cup points last time out at Knockhill.

Due to the nature of the Snetterton circuit drafting plays a big role in terms of laptime and so for qualifying it was essential to have a drafting partner. The American duo of D'Agostino and Kimball would work together during qualifying and D'Agostino would end up 5th for Race 1 and 6th for Race 2.

Race 1 would see a frenzied scrap as D'Agostino and others ended up three-wide at some points of the race all due to the massive draft down the long back straight. D'Agostino would due well and finish 4th position overall just behind Suk Sandher taking the Scholarship class win and setting the fastest race lap.

For Race 2 D'Agostino would get a rocket start leaping from 6th to 3rd passing several cars on the outside of turn 1, from there D'Agostino would set his sights on the second-place car of Hohenthal and would begin to mount a challenge as the Top 3 cars rapidly began to gap the field. D'Agostino would begin to feel his car starting to go away and realized that he had a puncture of his left-rear tire from the start that would eventually end his race as it progressively got worse and worse until the tire shredded. D'Agostino fought hard until the very end but there was nothing the young American could do.

Joe D'Agostino:

"It was unfortunate getting that puncture as Team JLR gave me a car to win; we were so strong at the beginning of the race even though the tire was starting to go down. These things happen and I accept that and overall I thought the weekend went well as I still managed to get a win in Scholarship and all important points for fastest race lap and Pole position (Scholarship). I guess my first win will have to wait until Castle Combe--"
