Nahir wins HSR-West/ Amercian Indycar Series at California Speedway, Santos sets track record.

Fontana, CA - With beautiful sunny skies and excellent racing conditions Nahir took the pole for both races and led every lap of the second and third AIS races of the 2002 season.

"Again we are thrilled to have another 2 wins overall in AIS this season," stated Nahir. Nahir set the fastest qualifying lap of all the 300 cars participating in the HSR-West/AIS event in his Shaver Chevy powered Lola. Jimmy Santo's, who fought an overheating problem all weekend in his Reynard, set the track record in the second race on the re-configured California Speedway for road course racing.

The next stop for the AIS circuit is Willow Springs Raceway Oct 5-6 2002. "We look forward to continue the growth of the AIS series and welcome our newest associate sponsors, Davis Public Image and September Moon Productions," states Barry Brooke, President, and Bobby Brooks Sr. Vice President of the American Indycar Series.

America One Broadcasting will air the event on July 14th, at 11:30am EST, the website www.americaone.com lists the affiliate stations, and will web cast the AIS show online at 11:30am EST

The AIS cars are the same cars that competed in both the CART and IRL racing series, with several of the cars having previously raced in the famed Indianapolis 500. Recently, the AIS cars and drivers were used in the Columbia Pictures release of the film version "Charlie's Angels".
