AG aiming for the next challenge

26 August, 2003 - After finishing inside the Championship points at the previous round of the Ford Racing Australian Formula Ford Championship Adam Graham will this weekend focus on his next challenge at South Australia's Mallala Motorsport Park in the penultimate round of the Championship.

The Super Cheap Auto Spectrum pilot was "over the moon" when his finally cracked a top 10 finish at Oran Park but is now focusing on moving up the order and aiming for a top 5 finish within the final two rounds.

While never competing at the Mallala circuit previously the 18-year-old has completed several test days earlier in the year that fills him full of confidence entering this weekend's round.

"It was early in the year when I tested there and I was still getting used to the car and more importantly trying to adapt from a kart to a Formula Ford," says AG.

"One of the good things about that will be that I know the track and added to the experience I've gained throughout the year it should put me in a good spot for the weekend.

"When I first started with the team it was always the aim to improve throughout the year and get some good results late in the year, now that I've got a top 10 finish I am aiming for a top 5."

Prior to the weekend's action AG will compete in the inaugural Formula Ford karting Challenge at Kart Mania, Gepps Cross where the bragging rights to victory will be almost as high as the victory for the Championship round.

"I'm really looking forward to having some fun but I want to win!!!!!! They may only be hire karts but I can't wait to drive a kart again," AG says.

Practice for the seventh round of the Ford Racing Formula Ford Championship will begin on Friday followed by qualifying on Saturday and two 12-lap races on Sunday at 10.25am & 1.55pm.

Mallala Motorsport Park is located 55km North of Adelaide and 1km North of Mallala Township.
