There will be a bonus for motorsport enthusiasts at the Vodacom Roadshow meeting at AA Kyalami on June 17 - gate entry will be free.

One national championship and three non-championship categories will be in action on a day that promises to provide for plenty of action. A two-hour endurance format also adds a touch of uncertainty to the next round of the Vodacom Sports Prototype Championship, with the sports car series joined at the Vodacom Roadshow meeting by Vodacom Isondo Sports 2000, Formula GTi and Formula Vee.

"The meeting is a few weeks short of the eighth anniversary of the Automobile Association's acquisition of the AA Kyalami complex," said AA Racing managing director Piet Swanepoel. "In that time we have had tremendous support from sponsors like Vodacom and our other partners, as well as from motor racing enthusiasts and competitors.

"We thought it would be a nice gesture on our part to waive the entrance fee for the June 17 meeting. It is a small thank you to all those people who have supported us over the years, and all we want is for motorsport fans to bring their families along and have a fun day at the races."

The Vodacom Sports Prototype championship - currently led by Kempton Park driver George Ferreira - is delicately poised, and the endurance format sees reliability emerge as a factor at the AA Kyalami outing. All four series are tightly contested, with the meeting crucial to those harbouring championship hopes - and this is sure to lead to some hugely interesting races, with good fields expected in all four categories.

Proceedings will get underway at AA Kyalami on Saturday, June 16 with official practice and timed qualifying sessions for all categories. The practice sessions start at 08h00 with timed qualifying from 14h30.

There will be warm-up sessions for all categories on June 17, starting at 08h00, with the first race scheduled to start at 10h00. The Vodacom Sports Prototype event is scheduled to start at 12h25.
