At the end of 10 hard fought laps, Sam was in first place. Round two class 1 was no less impressive. Sam and Rob were never more than a few feet apart for the entire 10 laps. A final attempt by Rob to pass Sam in the last lap found Rob stopped in the tire barrier and Team Margarita finishing with first in class 1 and first in the class for the day.

Class 10 competition was also fierce. The first heat, Mike Lehners was racing as if it were the last race of the season and was not to be passed. Sam worked hard but was unable to get around and finished with a second place.

The second round was a different story. Patrick Timmons, seeing the level of competition at the track, pulled his retired car from the garage and brought it to the track. Patrick drove like a man possessed and finished in first place in the second round. Due to a starting line infraction, Sam was given finishing points for first in the second round which gave us a first overall for the day.

With the finishing positions for the race, Team Margarita is in first place in points for both class 1 and class 10 starting into the desert series. Thanks to VORRA for the spectacular event.
