BARK RIVER, Mich., (July 16, 2001) - Johnny Greaves, Mark Krueger and Steve Federico earned their first-ever win in their respective Toyota trucks this weekend at the Championship Off Road Racing (CORR) Boss Snowplow Off-Road Challenge in Bark River, Mich.
Greaves, DePere, Wis., earned his 23rd -career CORR victory in taking his first win in a new Pro-4 class Forest County Potawatomi-sponsored Toyota Tundra 4x4. He worked his way through a competitive field in winning the first round on Saturday. Greaves, the all-time CORR leader with 23 victories, raced a two-wheel-drive Tundra last year in the Pro-2 class after winning three consecutive Pro-Lite championships in a Toyota Tacoma.
Green Bay, Wis., native Krueger took home his first career CORR truck win by motoring through the field in his Pro-Lite Nicolet Toyota Tacoma. A former CORR Single Buggy class champion (1999), Krueger finished third overall last year in the Pro-Lite class.
Federico, Wilmette, Ill., took the lead on the land-rush start in the second Pro-Lite class event on Sunday and held on for his first truck victory in an Ingles Market/Mountain Dew Toyota Tacoma. Last year's Single Buggy champion, Federico's win moved him into first place overall in the Pro-Lite class, 10 points ahead of fellow Tacoma racer and defending champion Jeff Kincaid. He also solidified his lead in the CORR Kumho Tire Rookie of the Year battle.
In the Super Buggy class, Toyota-powered racer Scott Peterson swept both races at Bark River to move into fifth place overall in the class behind another Toyota-powered driver, Scott Schwalbe.
