Kumho Tire's presence continues to grow in the CORR Lucas Oil Series

Indianapolis, Ind. (April 23, 2003)-When Kumho Tires joined Championship Off Road Racing as an Associate Sponsor in 2001, they were relatively unknown in off-road racing. With their support in the CORR Lucas Oil Series, they are building a reputation that is comparable to that of BFGoodrich and Goodyear Tires. Both tire companies (BFGoodrich and Goodyear) used their success in off-road racing competition to bring top- quality products to the everyday consumer.

"We see the CORR Lucas Oil Series as being a very credible and a very respected form of racing," said Ed Cercek with Kumho. "We have been able to greatly expand our dealer base due in a large part to our partnership with CORR."

Along with the Associate Sponsorship, Kumho backs the CORR Rookie of the Year program. In 2001, Steve Federico (Pro-Lite) and Scott Peterson (Super Buggy) won the inaugural Kumho Tire Rookie of the Year Award. Josh Baldwin (Pro-4) and Rod Wells (Stock) were the recipients in 2002.

Kumho's network of drivers also continues to grow. They have representation in 7 of the 8 divisions. For the 2003 CORR Lucas Oil Series, Steve McCrossan will be the first Pro-4 driver to compete with Kumho Tires. Chad Hord (Pro-Lite) will also join the Kumho ranks. In all, eleven CORR drivers will race with Kumho's this season.

"To attain our mission of growing the brand awareness of Kumho Tire, and demonstrating the abilities of Kumho radial light truck tires, we realize that our partnership with CORR is a give and take situation," said Cercek.

"We know that what is good for CORR will also benefit Kumho Tire in the long run. The racers provide the 'product' that the at-track and television fans crave to see, so the more we can help the racers, the better it is for the whole partnership. Our investment in CORR and its racers has produced immediate and measurable success for Kumho Tire and its dealer network," Cercek said.

In only the third year of involvement, Kumho Tire is delighted to be a part of the CORR Lucas Oil Series, both as a sponsor and provider of tires to the CORR racing teams.

"Without a doubt, the most rewarding aspect of the sponsorship (with CORR) is sharing in the excitement that erupts at each race. We work very closely with every team that runs the Kumhos," said Cercek.

"We have a great group of drivers and teams, and share the highs and lows of each race day with them. CORR racing provides some of the most exciting, side-by-side, bump and grind racing on this planet. We share in this excitement with each of our teams, and the competition."

Motorsports, including Championship Off Road Racing, will continue to be a part of Kumho's strategy to bring the brand awareness that each company seeks in a competitive market.

Cercek noted, "Motorsports has been a very important reason that Kumho Tire has experienced its growth in North America, and around the world. The CORR Lucas Oil Series is a very important part of our strategy. Our CORR drivers are extremely passionate about the sport and about our products."
